We have a use case that requires a person to review edits and then accept or reject those edits as part of a workflow step. This doesn’t necessarily mean they should be able to modify the page. They should just have the read permission.

For example, someone in the Legal and Compliance department should be able to review the page and decide whether it is complicit with the law. They are not part of the creative team that comes up with the design and copy. They provide guidance, but do not dictate exactly how the page should look. It is the creative team’s responsibility to adjust the copy so that it meets both marketing and creative needs.

Currently, Kentico does not allow giving a role or user accept and reject permissions under a workflow step without also giving the modify permission. If you allow a role or user to approve and reject, you must also give the modify permission. I’m proposing that the user can accept or reject without having to have the modify permission.
