  1. When syncing pages, the staging module should also sync any previous changes made to that page that is still in the staging queue

When working with multiple editors the staging queue can often become a mess. One source of this is when editors selectively push their latest changes to a page, but miss early staged changes to the same object in the queue. This either results in the staging queue filling up with orphaned tasks, or users overwriting each others changes as the older items get pushed after the newer changes due to the manual syncing of items in the queue.

I believe the default behavior for the staging queue when push changes should be to automatically push any queued changes that were…

  3. Show name of template you are manipulating

From the Pages app, if you choose a page, click the General(?) dropdown between Form and Analytics, and go to Template.

From here, you can click Edit Template Properties. I use this section often to edit html on the fly after it's already been set up as a template.

This "Edit page template" page has the name of the site I am editing in General, but it doesn't in Layout (which is where I do most of my work here), so I often find myself having to save changes (before I want to) and go back to General or out…

  4. Allow SCSS in the MVC Model

We should be able to use SCSS in any kentico build, regardless if its MVC or portal engine. Using SCSS to not only organizes your css better but can also speed up wesbite development.

  5. Show server name on System application tile on Dashboard

In a load balanced environment, it would be nice to display the machine name within the System application tile while on the dashboard. When deploying JavaScript files, I need to ensure my browser did not cache the traffic going to one server. This is a quick way to know which server I'm deploying to.

  7. MVC Page Builder Widgets - Wrap widget names to a newline

Currently widget names are cut off eg "Long widget na...".

Kentico should update the style so that a widget name can be read in full, by wrapping the names onto further lines.

  8. Allow ES2015 modules in MVC PageBuilder inline editor scripts

ES2015 modules are the future of JavaScript dependency management, whether used directly client side or to create bundles on the server side.

It's frankly ridiculous that if I have an "import" statement in a script registering an inline editor for use in PageBuilder widgets, that import statement is not detected; either directly via a quick check of the scripts content (hint: its always the first word if its there at all) or via the commonly used file extension ".mjs".

All that needs to happen to enable this feature is for the page builder to detect the use of this feature…

  9. Copy Widget functionality in MVC

I would love to be able to copy and paste widgets in MVC just like we're able to in the Portal Engine model

  10. Implement staging for classes in custom modules

Currently only data synchronization for custom module classes are supported. Changes in class definition aren't logged as staging tasks, so import/export of all module is needed for deployment.

Enable staging for custom module classes same way as for page types or custom tables.

Need for import/export in combination with staging is not convenient user experience.

  11. Allow role base permissions to email widget, so specific role's user can only change values.

Allow role base permissions to email widget, so specific role's user can only change values.

lets say, We Have multiple user roles,
    Admin, Sub Admin, dealer.

Admin creates Email campaign, and email using email template.
For this it uses email widgets, now Admin to restrict users from editing email widget data.
    Ex:-
Admin created email and add header Widget along with some other widgets and set its value.
It notify Sub Admin & dealer user role that email is created they can change if they want but Admin don't want them to change Header widget value.

    so for that I…

  14. navigation

    Redirecting Navigation:
When choosing the "URL redirection" option under Properties -> Navigation, it would be nice if the code was smart enough to recognize if the redirection is navigating to a page on the existing site or to an external domain, and then build a href accordingly. Ideally, if my page was on abc.com/test and I wanted to redirect to xyz.com/test1, I would like my link to reflect xyz.com/test1. There isn't a good reason in my mind that the link should reflect abc.com/test. In addition, we should have the option to open this redirected link in a new window.

  15. Single admin application for multiple MVC sites

Right now, if you have multiple production MVC sites, you are forced to also have multiple instances of the CMS admin application, even if the sites share a single database. This appears to be a legacy carryover of the implementation where the customer-facing production site and the admin interface were a single site sharing a hostname (the awful WordPress model.) This creates a lot of management overhead. Imagine a scenario with 10 sites. They are likely to have many overlapping users, roles and objects. Kentico is already designed to handle this scenario, except that it also requires 10 CMS instances…

  16. Add site(s) assigned to column under Users

If you have more than one site on a Kentico instance, it would nice to see what site or sites a user was assigned to in the list of users in the Users Application.

  17. After changing site selector do not allow content changes - modal window?

When you switch the site selector, the change APPEARS to have taken place (site dropdown displays the ‘new’ site), but if you watch the status bar, you can see that the request is still waiting for a response. Some of our users don’t realize this, and if they’re really quick with whatever they’re doing, they might be changing settings on the original site. Then, all of a sudden, the page switches with the correct site now showing, and them wonder the heck just happened. We're running into this more and more as users are becoming more familiar with making changes…

  18. Visibility setting for widget properties and other means to make widget property settings dynamic

Currently it is not possible to have a visibility condition for widget properties in MVC widgets.

It is also not possible to dynamically add property-attributes based on code.

In case where I have a checkbox to have a slightly modified version of the same widget I want to have extra fields appear (similar to how that is possible for the form builder or page fields)

  19. More fine-grained control options for MVC Page Builder section configuration

MVC Page Builder section properties in the K12 Service Pack were an extremely welcome addition. Good job on that, y'all!

Unfortunately, it seems like section properties are really only set up with two options for editing:

1.) Form Components in the stock configuration dialog - Super limited, with no lifecycle management. Need to manage a little bit of state, then safely release that resource for garbage collection when the configuration dialog closes? Whoops, just going to have to live with that memory leak!

2.) Modal Dialogs - Heavy handed, one-size fits all solution that inhibit ease of feature discovery (opening…

  20. Default Country setting

One of the most annoying things is during checkout when a user is completeing an address, when it comes to the country, as we are a UK based provider, the users has to scroll down the list to find the county.

Ideally in e-commerce settings the default country should be a selection, so when the user visitis the page, its the 1st in the list.
