  1. Support for OpenID Connect

    Support for OpenID Connect.
Although OpenID 2.0 is supported on Kentico, it seems that the newer OpenId Connect is not supported yet. I am sure that in future there will be more clients wanting to implement Connect instead so it would be great if they benefit a native support instead of handling custom external authentications.

  2. Automatically generate scheduled tasks for web farms

When you are using web farms, a few scheduled tasks need to be configured to execute on every server. When new servers are created by a rolling update or during auto-scaling, these tasks need to be created manually, or by writing a custom handler to generate them. It would be great if they could be flagged for automatic creation.

The custom handler solution is described here:

  3. Add 'non-Binary' to User Gender

Currently Kentico uses an Integer to store the User Gender with the values 0 / 1 / 2 (Unknown / Male / Female / Other). Given the way things have changed can this be updated to 0 / 1 / 2 / 3 (Unknown / Male / Female / Non-Binary)

Perhaps you can also add a UserGenderName field, so that non-binary options can be stored as text within that field. For out-of-the-box this can be left null and developers would need to implement based on their requirements.

As an example Facebook allows at least 56 different string entries for Gender…

  4. The Kentico installer should do server environmental tests for compatabilty

The Kentico installer should do basic OS, .NET, SQL Server, and IIS version testing and refuse (or at the very least, sternly warn) to complete an install of Kentico CMS.

Recently, were were bitten by "dbo" and "db_owner" default owner differences between different versions of MS-SQL Server, which caused Kentico to fail in the most horrible ways over custom tables created by new Page Types. Much head scratching could have been avoided with a SQL Server test at install time.

  5. Responsive images like Kentico Cloud (with format) in media library

It will be great to have a function like 'Kentico Cloud Responsive Images' for the Kentico CMS/EMS media library.

With functions like resize, crop and format

  6. Scroll click breadcrumbs to open new tab

Simple as the title, currently (I am using K12) the breadcrumbs can't be opened in a new tab.
