  1. improved side by side comparison view of amended text

it would save us a lot of time if there was a more visual way to configure the side-by-side version comparison i.e. yellow highlighting of added text, changes to documents (PDFs) added/removed (via a widget), images etc.

Currently we can only see changes to text through text in red or red strike-through. we can't see any changes to the formatting i.e. styling applied to headings. we have a lot of changes daily and have to troll through looking at everything

  3. Calendar: Make different colour codes for different departments' events. For example PSP Sports - blue; PSP REC - green; MFRC - yellow.

Calendar: Make different colour codes for different departments' events. For example PSP Sports - blue; PSP REC - green; MFRC - yellow; Health Promotion - orange.

This would give the viewer a way to view the calendar events in the category they are interested in. Finding events and dates would become easier.

  4. Migrate documents from one document type to another

It would be great to be able to migrate documents from one document type to another in CMS Desk (without using the SQL Import tool). This is especially useful when upgrading/overhauling/rearchitecting older Kentico websites.

  5. Can we get a Microsoft Edge specific body class instread of the 'Chrome' and 'Safari' classes?

    Hi Kentico,

On https://docs.kentico.com/k10/developing-websites/designing-websites-using-css there is a table with the body classes that are generated based on the browser the client is viewing the project in.

Can you explain why the Microsoft Edge browser and the Google Chrome browser bot get the Chrome and Safari body class. Why isn't a Microsoft Edge specific class generated and is this maybe something you can add in the near future? It would be great to have a 'Edge' class or something like that.

    Best regards,
    Sander Bras

  6. media library workflow & versioning

Add versioning and workflow for media library items.

Media libraries management is a bit limited compared to other content, to make them more usable a simple submit / approve workflow would go a long way. When you have a large number of content editors items can appear and disappear from the media library with no audit trail to understand what happened.
Even just logging who uploaded an item would be helpful.

  8. Preview pages in CMSDesk as "not authenticated" or as a selected other role.

With permissions, security or web part settings some pages can look different to different users. When logged in as Administrator, If you want to view a page and see what it looks like to people that haven't logged in, you can't unless you log out. Logging out logs you out of CMSDesk too, so you have to log back in again to make an amend.

Also you can't easily confirm "edit", "delete", "add new" buttons are only showing to the right users because Global Administrator sees everything all the time.

I would like to have view options in the preview…

  9. Add scrollWheel property to Google Maps (and more if possible)

The current Google Maps webpart does its thing, but does not include all the possible options you set onto a google-map.
Most of the options currently available are the options you'll generally use, but it is missing one. An that is a very important one imo, and that option is: scrollWheel.

The scrollWheel option allow you to enable/disable zooming with the scrollwheel of your mouse. This is a boolean and defaults to true.
Nowadays, it is more common to have map element on a page that is so big that it can span the entire page. If you, in such…

  12. Add support for Canonical Link Element

In addition to "Redirect document aliases to main URL," (formerly a web.config appSettings directive), I'd like to see an option for "Use Canonical Link Element."

With that option, the URL alias would be honored and persist in the address bar, but an indication of the actual URL would be made as a canonical link element in the <head>:

    <link rel="canonical" href=" http://www.example.com/Actual-Url "/>

  13. Add a path selector for Media Libraries

When creating web parts that rely on the Media Library content, it would be helpful to have a Media Library path selector control, instead of manually typing in the path, which can be problematic.

  14. Lock icon on pages with security

Similar to the published/archived/etc status icon and the redirect icon, an additional lock icon for pages with security on.

  15. Media gallery list view option (rather than folder tree)

Right now, the only way to navigate through folders in a Media Gallery web part is to show the folder tree and have users navigate with the tree.

It would be nice to have an alternate "list view" option where folders and files are listed like they are in Windows Explorer, SharePoint, and other file management tools. In other words, folders and files all appear in a single list, and users can simply click the folder name to navigate down a level.

  16. Responsive Images Attachment GUID Selector

In K10 we started with responsive images. Kentico uses Attachment Variants to get this working.

I would like to have a media selector, which returns the attachment GUID. Currently only the attachment URL is selected.
But I need the GUID for almost every attachment helper method in the CMS code.

It would be very cool to have an attachment selector, where the user could upload a new file as cms.file (content) or as document attachment (attachment) but not to the media library.
The selector stores the GUID, so we could get all attachments (with variants) to create our responsive images…

  17. Wrap checkbox/radio input and label inside HTML element to control line-break issues

Creating a Kentico form with a checkbox/radio button list with the "Repeat direction:" set to horizontal renders a series of checkbox/radio form controls and labels with no <br> tags. However, because there is no HTMl element that groups each control/label pair, the label will drop to a new line while the checkbox stays.

By wrapping control/label pair inside an HTML element, such as span (even with no CSS class applied), gives us the ability to control this line-break issue with CSS.

Current output example (stripping all id, values and for attributes):

    <span iclass="radio radio-list-horizontal">
    <input type="radio" value="Phone"><label>Phone</label>
    <input type="radio" value="Email"><label>Email</label> …

  18. Better page selection when using translation functionality

The current single path selector in the translation app leaves much to be desired. You have to create two exports to do a section of the site (one for the parent page, and then one for its children).

Adding the ability to select a node and its children, or specify multiple paths, or even choose multiple ad-hoc pages would make it less cumbersome.

  19. Bring page navigation properties back to MVC

    Sorely missing properties like:

    - Document Menu Caption
    - Show/Hide In Navigation
    - Redirection Url
    - really all of them

    Please bring them back!

  20. Workflow Emails

It would be helpful to be able to flag specific roles or users to receive workflow notifications rather than all users with the "Manage Workflow" permission.

Use case - we have certain content that must be reviewed and approved by legal. By including specific roles / users in workflow steps, legal will only get notice of page to approve that are applicable to them.
